Ben’s Brilliant Best Albums of the 1990s. No. 59. The Wannadies – Bagsy Me

Sometimes you can make a big brash argument about how an album changed the way we look at dance music or France or trombones or whatever. Most of the time though, your reason for including an album on a list of your favourites is no more complicated than, ‘the songs are really good’. The difficulties of finding new ways to say ‘the songs are good’ is something I should have thought about before I started this list but I didn’t. We are stuck with me writing these things and you reading them. Nobody wins. I apologise. I do.

The songs on Bagsy Me really are rather good though. Like proper very good indeed. The songs are excellent.
